Habits of a Thin Person - Secrets To Staying Slim

Have you ever looked at a thin person and wondered how they do it? What is their secret to staying slim?  What are their habits? Can you copy them?

Exercise Regularly – and Find Something You Enjoy

Thin people generally enjoy exercising, yes, believe it or not, it’s true!

They have found some form of exercising that they enjoy taking part in, whether it is jogging, working out at the gym or taking part in some type of sport. If you want to lose weight and maintain this weight loss then it is important to find some exercise that you enjoy doing and do it regularly.

Drink Plenty of Water

Another thing you may find if you start asking thin people about their habits is that many of them drink a lot of water.

Drinking water helps to keep your body hydrated and functioning the way it should. Most of us don’t drink as much water as we should and apart from affecting other areas of our health it can also affect our weight. Although most people should aim for between six to eight glasses of water, if you are obese or overweight then you should actually drink even more.

Increase the Alkalinity of Your Diet

An alkaline diet is a diet that focuses on a high percentage of raw foods including fruit and vegetables.

If you want to lose weight and stay (or get) healthy then it is important to aim for a more alkaline diet – try to ensure that between 50-75% of your food daily is alkaline and you will lose weight.

Avoid Artificial Foods

Additives, preservatives and other artificial substances used in food provide no nutrition and can actually decrease the amount of nutrition you obtain from food.

When you are not receiving the nutrition you need from food you will want to eat more in order to meet this need and will put on weight and still not feel satisfied. Try to eat foods that are as natural as possible.

Keep Healthy Snacks on Hand if You are a Compulsive Snacker

If you often find yourself snacking on biscuits, soda and other unhealthy foods and drinks, then replace these with healthy alternatives such as fruits, nuts, seeds and healthy drink substitutes. Then when you are tempted to snack you will at least ensure that you are getting more nutritious snacks and will be more likely to lose weight.

Don’t Skip Meals

Another important point when it comes to losing weight and maintaining weight loss is never to skip meals.

Skipping meals does not help you lose weight, in fact, it does completely the opposite. When you skip a meal your body goes into starvation mode and starts storing food as fat for the starvation season (even if it is just one meal!)

Naturally thin people effortlessly seem to keep the weight off but they are really following a few basic principles that enable them to stay healthy and slim.

They enjoy exercise and do it regularly. They follow a healthy diet, drink lots of water and never skip meals. Learn how to follow these principles in your life and the weight will come off and stay off.
